This year, she has two series featured at the Canneseries television festival, one of which she won, and two years ago, she was part of the cast that won the Palme d'Or with "The Triangle of Sadness."
The red carpet was adorned in pink to welcome the various productions being presented at the event. The actress competed as part of the cast of "Becoming Karl Lagerfeld," alongside Daniel Brühl, who played the lead role, and in "The Zweiflers," the series that ended up winning this year's award.
The synopsis of the series is as follows: Family patriarch and Holocaust survivor Symcha Zweifler is about to sell his delicatessen empire when he is confronted with his past in Frankfurt's red light district after World War II, a test for the whole family as old conflicts resurface. Things get worse when Samuel's grandson and his girlfriend, Saba, expect a son.
It is a comedy, and the actress performs naturally in that genre. The plot follows a dysfunctional German Jewish family created by David Hadda and starring Mike Burstyn as Symcha Zweifler, the patriarch of the family who starts to face complications when aspects of his past begin to come to light.
The actress and writer, born in Luxembourg, plays Mimi Zweifler in the series, the mother of Samuel (Aaron Altaras), the patriarch's grandson. The story portrays three generations of the family, with Sunnyi's character serving as the glue that holds them together.
We hope to have access soon to the serie; the premiere will take place in Europe in early March.
